Welcome to Spectrum English Language Arts! We will focus on reading and analyzing fiction and non-fiction complex texts, writing both expository and argumentative essays by citing evidence from the texts, and acquiring advanced vocabulary to improve reading comprehension and written expression. While each grade level will read different literature and related informational texts, all students will study vocabulary from their own Wordly Wise vocabulary workbooks each week. We will complete approximately five lessons each grading period in order to complete all 20 lessons by the end of the year.
