Conditioning (Begins October 15th)
*Conditioning is optional but is designed to help athletes meet the minimum requirements to make the team

Tuesday and Thursday @ WBMS from 3:05 to 4:15 pm

 

Tryouts in December date TBD

Minimum requirements to make the team (athletes must qualify in one category)

Varsity Boys Team

1 mile = 8 minutes

100m dash = 15.00 seconds

Throwing = 20 feet shot put or 60 feet discus. 

 

Varsity Girls Team

1 mile = 9 minutes

100m dash = 16.00 seconds

Throwing = 15 feet shot put or 40 feet discus. 

 

A JV team of 5 boys and 5 girls will also be selected

Selection will be based off of effort given during conditioning

 

 

Practice scheduling starting in January. 

 

Monday @ Riverdale High school 3:45 to 5:00 pm

Tuesday and Thursday @ WBMS from 3:05 to 4:30 pm

 

October through January are pre-season, conditioning type workouts. In February we will transition into event specific practices and workouts. Our first meets will begin in late February.

Eligibility

To be eligible for track please have a current physical (since April 15 of 2024), complete the FinalForms paperwork found at the following link: Athletics Main - Miscellaneous - Whitworth-Buchanan Middle School (rcschools.net)

  

Final Forms: Student forms must be 100% complete to participate/tryout
Sports Physical: Up to date sports physical needs to be completed. (dated after 4/15/2024)
Team Fee:  $135.00, due February 1st. The fee will be used for uniforms, equipment, entry fees, team events, athlete recognition, awards, assistant coaching staff and other team expenses. The fee is non-refundable. Use This link to pay fees.

Communication: We will use the Remind: School Communication phone app to keep you up to date with any schedule changes or cancelled practices.
