Administration
April Sneed
Principal
Welcome to the 2024-25 school year! I am excited to begin my sixth year as principal of Whitworth-Buchanan Middle School, my 13th year as an administrator, and 25th year as an educator. Previously, I was the assistant principal at Rockvale Middle School for eight years and have taught ELA in Rutherford County Schools for many years prior to entering administration. As we continue to build a strong academic foundation at WBMS, our top priority will be to provide a positive learning environment where each student has the opportunity to reach his or her full potential in order to meet the challenges of high school. To that end, it is important to me that each child feels welcomed, safe, and valued at Whitworth-Buchanan Middle School. Please do not hesitate to contact WBMS administration with questions or concerns. I look forward to working with you throughout the school year to accomplish one of the most important and rewarding tasks there is - empowering today's students to grasp tomorrow's opportunities.

Assistant Principal
I’m a very proud an assistant principal at Whitworth-Buchanan Middle School. Prior to taking on this role, I served as the school’s instructional coach and taught for many years in Rutherford County Schools. My hope is to serve our teachers and students in a manner that allows them to succeed at the very highest of levels. I am greatly aware of the impact we have on the development of our students during some of the most formative years of their lives, and I count myself fortunate for the opportunity to assist in fostering their learning and growth into adulthood. I have greatly enjoyed serving the WBMS community so far and look forward to the continued success of our students and teachers in the coming years.

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year. It is my pleasure to be assistant principal at Whitworth-Buchanan Middle School for the sixth year of my 20 years in education that began as a special education teacher and response to intervention and instruction coach. It is an honor to assist in leading WBMS in being a top school of Rutherford County adhering to policies and procedures yielding student growth in academics and character. We continue strengthening our foundation with high expectations for all Yellow Jackets to remain on their pathway of success. We ground our instruction with rigor, relevance, and relationships. I am excited to be a part of the Whitworth-Buchanan community. Please feel free to contact WBMS administration at any time, as our top priority is to empower every student every day to learn, grow, and be prepared for tomorrow's opportunities.
