WBMS Basketball Cheerleading

Welcome!

There is a separate basketball cheer squad for 2024-2025!

Coach: Jennifer Cook ([email protected])

Try-outs: September 30-October 3, 2024 from 3:05-5:00 p.m.-Pick up at the gym in the back of the school building.

Important Try-out Information: Go to WBMS website @ wbm.rcschools.net or https://rutherford-tn.finalforms.com/ to complete FinalForms. All athletic forms must be completed online before a student can try-out. This includes a physical dated AFTER April 15, 2024, birth certificate, and the student AND parent registration. Two teacher recommendations are required. The try-out will consist of learning a band dance and at least one cheer.

Practice and Games: The squad will practice in October, November, December, and January after school (Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays) and will be picked up in the back of the school promptly at 5:00 p.m. on practice days.  The squad will also cheer at basketball games (2 per week) on Monday and Thursday nights; you must provide your own transportation to and from games.

The Basketball cheerleading squad is not competitive; instead, girls will support our girls’ and boys’ basketball teams by cheering at each game. Basketball games are held on Monday and Thursday nights.  Cheerleading requires more commitment from both parents and athletes in aspects of time, money, and focus. You will be responsible for mandatory fundraising, a uniform fee ($100), purchasing shoes ($40), bloomers ($20), socks ($10), poms ($30), bows ($15), and any other miscellaneous fees that may come up during the basketball season.

For more information, contact Ms. Cook at [email protected].
