Welcome to Whitworth-Buchanan Middle School (WBMS) 6th Grade Math. We hope you had a wonderful summer and that you are ready to begin your journey through middle school. We are diligently preparing for the new school year. It is our mission to ensure that each student feels they are a part of Whitworth-Buchanan Middle School and a part of their education. This year will look very different from years past, but we will navigate through it together. This year we build off of previous years knowledge to being expanding our thinking from concrete to abstract. In the 6th grade, students are taught all operations with rational numbers, one step equations, proportional reasoning, geometry formula for area, surface area, and volume of 2D and 3D shapes and basis statistic (questions and central tendencies).
