Welcome to 6th Grade ELA!
I am so excited to welcome you to Whitworth-Buchanan Middle School for the 2023-2024 school year! I am a native of Middle Tennessee, and I have lived in Murfreesboro for over 30 years. I graduated from MTSU - twice! This is my 7th year teaching. I taught 6-8th grades for 5 years. I taught 3rd grade last year, but now I'm back teaching 6th grade ELA.
This is an exciting time for students, as they begin the journey in middle school. I am here to support our students and parents in any way possible!
Amplify 6E: Summer of the Mariposas
Week of April 8
- Monday: No School/Eclipse
- Tuesday: Test Prep Day 3 - Ordinary Paper
- Wednesday: Intro to TestNav System/Begin Informative Writing
- Thursday: Finish Informative Writing
- Friday: Test Prep Day 4
Students are expected to read for 20 minutes each weeknight and have a parent signature. Each student has a reading log in the back of their agenda. Please follow up with your student to keep them on track to becoming stronger readers!

- You can access Amplify, the online 6th Grade ELA textbook, through Clever.
- You can access your Office 365 account by clicking here, the username and password are the same as your computer login at school.
