Get to Know Me!
A Little About Me!
I am very excited to have you in my class this year and look forward to watching you grow in your usage and understanding of English. I am in my 24th year of teaching and my sixth year of teaching ESL. Twenty of my years in teaching have been in English, and I love working with students who are learning it as a second language. I hold a Bachelors in Education from the University of Akron and a Masters in Education with a technology emphasis from Ohio University. Additionally, I have an endorsement to my Tennessee teaching license in English as a Second Language. I am originally from Ohio and have lived in Middle Tennessee for twenty one years. I enjoy spending time with my husband, three daughters, my dog Spencer, family and friends. I have a passion for crafting and make custom cookies outside of teaching.
ESL is a very exciting place where students learning English get a chance to practice listening, speaking, reading and writing in English. My aim is to help students succeed in their core subject area classrooms by paralleling their classroom curriculum. My instruction includes the use of a variety of ESL strategies to further scaffold the student's learning. I hope that the addition of this website will help strengthen our home/school connection.
